Apple Crisp

Apples are difficult to purchase because sometimes they taste really good and other times not so much. We had a lot of these red apples that were just mushy and soft, my family weren't going to waste them, so instead I made an apple crisp.

You do need a lot of apples for this, but you could easily adapt this recipe to a smaller amount.

Ingredients:
- 8 apples
- 1 c. flour
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 1. Tbs. baking powder
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 Tbs. ground cinnamon
- 1 Tbs. butter, melted
Directions:
1) Mix flour, 1 cup of sugar, baking powder, and the egg together until it resembles corn meal. Preheat the oven to 300F.

2) Core, peel, and slice the apples. Stir in 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon. Place apple mixture in a greased 13x9 inch pan.

 3) Spread flour mixture over apples. Mix together 1 tablespoon of cinnamon and 1/4 cup of sugar. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar over the flour mixture and drizzle the melted butter over the top of the entire dish.

4) Bake for one hour and remove from oven to cool. Serve the dish still warm.

Although this recipe is very time consuming, it isn't difficult. Nothing is better than pulling this out of the oven because the aroma fills the house.

If you make this recipe, take pictures and share them with me, I'd love to see them!

Until next time,
Taylor xx
