To My Future Children

To My Future Children,
Hello! Before I jump in to this letter I guess I should give a brief introduction to where I am at in my life currently. Well... I'm 17 years old, I have 72 days until my last day of high school, and 80 days until graduation.

First, I want to say I have no idea who your dad is (I don't think it'll be anyone I've met so far). Even if I do already know him, I hope we have a happy marriage and laugh a lot. I won't talk to much about him, I'll save that for another blog post, I'm sure you don't want to hear about him anyway. But the one thing I do hope you all can agree with is that we've been able to take a lot of trips and travel to interesting places. My parents have been able to do that for me and I want to give you guys the same experience.
You've probably seen this photo before but this is my family in Hawaii this summer (2015)
So how are you? Are you doing what you love/what you're passionate about? I hope so because ultimately your happiness is most important. Do what makes you happy because you only have one life to live and you shouldn't fill it with negativity. I know you probably don't want to hear this from me and I'm sure you have heard this a million times from me but be patient. High school has finally turned into something I enjoy this year. Don't take your time for granted, even if you don't enjoy high school (or any situation) in the moment, I hope that you are able to reflect on the past and at least value some of the time or memories.

My biggest advice as a senior in high school would be to make the most of the time you have because senior year will fly by, and trust me, I've been waiting for the last day of senior year since the moment I entered high school. Find your passion and pursue it.
Me on my first day of senior year (and my brother's first day of freshman year)
Finally, sorry for my extreme use of sarcasm. I assume that I won't have curbed it, even when I have kids. Also, I'm sorry if I'm still blogging when I have you and your life has been documented on here. Really, though, you should be thanking me for providing you with a space to see you grow up (you're welcome).

Be sure to tell me what you think of this, and I'm sure I will have more to share with you in person about this time in my life.

Until next time,
Taylor (or I guess Mom, which is super weird to say/think about...) xx
