Target runs its car seat trade-in event twice a year, in spring and fall. Drop off any car seat or base, even expired or damaged ones, and you get a 20% off Target Circle Bonus toward a new car seat, stroller or select baby gear.
In 2026 the events ran April 19 to May 2 and September 20 to October 3. Watch for the spring 2027 dates.
How to claim it

Watch for Target's trade-in announcement (usually spring and fall).

Bring your old car seat to a participating store during the event and drop it in the trade-in box.

Follow the in-store instructions to add the 20% off bonus in the Target app, then use it before it expires.
