How we decide what's worth your time
Parents trust us to tell them what's real, what's worth it and what the catch is. Here's how we earn that.
What we list
A perk earns a spot in the directory only if it meets all three of these:
- It's genuinely free or meaningfully discounted. No sign-up traps, survey walls or “free trials” that quietly turn into subscriptions.
- It comes from a reputable source: the brand itself, a government program or an established nonprofit.
- Real families can actually get it. We spell out who qualifies, including the catches.
How we verify
- We check every perk and every factual claim in our guides against the official source: the brand's or program's own website, or a government site like HealthCare.gov or USDA.
- When an official page isn't clear, we look for multiple recent, independent sources that agree, and we leave out anything we can't confirm, such as unverified dollar values.
- We describe conditions up front. If a “free” box needs a purchase, a membership or a shipping fee, we say so next to the offer.
How we keep things current
Baby offers change often. Every perk and guide shows the date it was last updated, and we re-check them regularly. When a program ends or changes its rules, we update or remove the listing, and we redirect old pages so links don't break.
Corrections
Found something out of date or wrong? Tell us and choose “Report an outdated or wrong perk.” We re-check it against the source and fix it, usually within a few days.
Advertising and affiliate links
- TheBabyPerks is free to use and supported by ads, sponsored placements and affiliate links.
- Paid placements are always labelled “Sponsored” or “Advertisement.”
- Advertisers can't buy a spot in our editorial picks or change what we write about their offer.
- Affiliate relationships never decide whether a perk is listed or how it's described. See our affiliate disclosure.
Health and money topics
Some guides touch on insurance, Medicaid and feeding. We explain how programs work and link to the official source, but we're not a substitute for your doctor, your insurer or a benefits counselor. Rules vary by plan and state, so confirm the details that apply to you.
