The scoop
Enrolling your baby with a general practice is free. Once enrolled, visits to the doctor or practice nurse and the after-hours doctor are usually free until your child turns 14, and so are prescriptions.
Enrol at birth or soon after, so your baby can have their first vaccinations at 6 weeks. Extended consultations and extras like certificates may still cost something.
